From the big point of view, artificial floating islands can be divided into two types: dry and wet. The wet type is used for water and plants, and the dry type is used for non-contact.
1. Dry floating island: Because plants are not in contact with water, large woody and horticultural plants can be cultivated. The combination of different woods constitutes a good habitat for birds and also beautifies the landscape.
2. Wet floating island: roughly divided into four generations of technology.
1) The first generation, mainly built with bamboo and geonets, has the characteristics of low cost, poor effect, short life, and no maintenance (Note: With the increase of labor costs, this method has no advantage in cost)
2) The second generation, mainly foam or foam plus metal fixing products, has the advantages of low cost and simple manufacturing process, but the strength is insufficient, the metal foam is easy to separate, and the foam itself is white pollution. There is basically no application now (especially Basically disappeared after the plastic restriction order)
3) The third generation, mainly PE products, are mainly round products on the market, generally 9-11 square meters, with a floating body similar to a doughnut and a split planting basket. Although it overcomes the shortcomings of the above two generations, the floating island The quality of products in the country is different. There are many differences in the quality and life of products produced by different manufacturers. The market and industry standards need to be improved, and the supplier's qualification and reputation must be fully considered in procurement.
