Changrong Shipping Container Ship Caught Fire, General Average

Recently, during container operations at the Brazilian Port in Singapore, the "Ever Lenient" ship (Changci ship) owned by Evergreen Marine caught fire to the cargo on board. Evergreen Marine has announced that the shipowner has officially declared general average and has appointed Sedgwick, a global professional maritime average adjuster, to collect sufficient general average guarantees from relevant parties on its behalf, and to prepare the final general average adjuster at the appropriate time.
