Italy's retail sales increased by 0.7% year-on-year, exceeding expectations
According to Istat, Italy's seasonally adjusted monthly retail sales and retail volume index both increased by 1.2% in September this year. The retail trade volume increased by 0.7% year-on-year, and the retail volume increased by 0.3%. In the third quarter, retail sales increased by 0.7% month on month and sales volume increased by 0.4%. The large-scale distribution business increased by 2.2% month on month, while the small-scale distribution business and non store retail sales decreased by 1% and 1.6% respectively.
