The Difference Between Yoga Mat And Exercise Mat

The basic movements of yoga are stretching, relaxing, experiencing breathing, and feeling changes in body and mood, such as downward dog pose, triangle pose, warrior pose, wheel pose, splits, handstands, etc., which are generally barefoot exercises;

The basic exercises of fitness are relatively large, such as sit-ups, push-ups, planks, abdominal crunches and other karma movements, there will be some running, jumping, rolling, pressing, generally wearing shoes;

The above two completely different sports characteristics require great differences in the material, size and function of the mat:

1. Yoga mat:

The material should be soft, and the skin-friendly comfort should be emphasized. At present, the common materials are NBR, TPE, rubber, and PU;

The size is generally slightly larger than the height, and the regular size 183cm*61cm/80cm can meet;

Functionally, it requires dry and wet non-slip, thicker protection of joints, and a certain degree of resilience to protect the stability of the body;

2. Fitness mat:

The material should be high-density and hard, to maintain the feeling of the foot, to ensure that it will not be missed when doing large movements. At present, high-density PVC (usually used in home gyms) and rubber splicing mats (usually used in commercial gyms) are common;

Large size, because its movement is much larger than that of a yoga mat, so the size is larger than 190cmx80cm, and the largest is 300cmx180cm;
