The European Central Bank cuts three major interest rates by 25 basis points
Recently, the European Central Bank lowered its three key interest rates by 25 basis points, in line with market expectations. Among them, the deposit interest rate has been lowered to 2.25%, the marginal loan interest rate has been lowered to 2.65%, and the main refinancing interest rate has been lowered to 2.40%. This is the seventh time the bank has lowered interest rates since announcing the rate cut in June last year.
Vietnam's GDP grew by 6.93% year-on-year in the first quarter
Recently, according to the latest data released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance, Vietnam's GDP grew by 6.93% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, which is not only higher than the same period in 2024, but also far higher than the low level during the 2021-2023 pandemic. Compared with the same period data, the growth rate in the first quarter of this year is relatively high, indicating that both internal and external demand have rebounded.
