There are many shapes of greens, which are related to the distance of the second shot, and to a large extent determine the difficulty of the fairway. Greens can generally be divided into the following types:
a. Island-shaped green: The green is surrounded by water or sand pits, making the green as if on an island;
b. Cannon-top greens: The greens are higher than the surrounding ground and located on the high platform;
c. Terraced green: The surface of the green is obviously divided into two layers, like terraces;
d. Chair-shaped green: The green is surrounded by mounds or mountains on three sides, making the green like a seat;
e. Stamp-shaped greens: The greens are small and flat with a lot of bunkers around them.
In general areas, it is difficult to ensure that the green lawn maintains excellent quality throughout the year to adapt to the frequent trampling in golf.
