Vietnam plans to increase the consumption tax on alcoholic beverages to 100%
Recently, the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance proposed to increase the special consumption tax on alcoholic beverages to 100% by 2030, which may further impact the country's beverage industry. According to the draft pending approval of the Vietnamese Congress, the special consumption tax on beer and strong Baijiu will be increased to 70% -80% by 2026, and 90% -100% by 2030, with the current tax rate of 65%.
