Basic information about water skis

The rear part of the water ski is a rough foot pad, and two short ropes are tied to both sides of the front end. One end of the rope is knotted, which is convenient for athletes to pull and make it have a more stable posture on the board. The water ski has a towing line 15-22 meters long, which is tied to the front end of the board and used to tow it to the tail of the motor boat. The forward speed of motorboats is generally about 32 kilometers per hour, and the high-speed driving can reach more than 90 kilometers per hour. When water skiing, the athlete starts from the prone position. When the jet ski tows the water ski to start, the athlete grips the sides and knots of the water ski tightly with both hands, while the legs are dragged behind. After the water ski accelerates, the athlete moves his knees and feet on the foot pads, and then his hands are transformed into standing and sliding while grasping the knots. Athletes on the water ski can use the method of transferring weight to a certain foot to control the water ski. Because the front end of the water ski has a certain elevation angle, coupled with the board's buoyancy and fast forward, athletes can maintain balance on the board and perform various technical movements. Skilled athletes can perform various stunts on the board without pulling the rope.
