Peru's Gross Domestic Product increased by 2.85% year-on-year
Recently, the Peruvian Government Statistics Office (INEI) reported that Peru's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 2.85% year-on-year in February, marking the second consecutive month of growth in Peru. The Andean region's economy is expected to end last year's recession. In addition, the increase in unemployment rate in Lima, Peru in March exceeded economists' expectations. According to the National Institute of Statistics and Information (INEI), the unemployment rate in Lima in March increased from 7.3% in February to 7.7%, with an estimated 7.6%.
