Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Pyongyang, North Korea on October 19 for a two-day state visit. General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of The State Council Kim Jong UN greeted him at the airport. Earlier, Putin signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty with North Korea. This is Putin's first visit to North Korea in 24 years. The meeting aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of security, economy, energy, transportation and agriculture.
