South Korea's exports in February increased by 1.0% year-on-year, lower than expected

According to the latest data from the South Korean Ministry of Industry, Trade and Resources, South Korea's exports in February this year were $52.6 billion, a year-on-year increase of 1%, which was lower than the 3.7% growth expected by interviewed economists. Overall imports increased by 0.2%, with a trade surplus of 4.3 billion US dollars. According to the country's Ministry of Trade, due to the decline in prices of traditional storage chips, semiconductor exports decreased by 3% year-on-year, marking the first decline since the end of 2023.
