US ISM Manufacturing Index 50.3, lower than expected
On the 3rd, data released by ISM showed that the US ISM manufacturing index for February was 50.3, lower than the expected 50.8, and the value before January was 50.9. 50 is the boundary between prosperity and decline. The new order index is 48.6, far below the expected 54.6, with a value of 55.1 before January, a decrease of 6.5 points in a single month. This is the first contraction of the index since October 2024, after three consecutive months of expansion following the US election.
